Replacement Windows In Boxford
Boxford is a town of woods, ponds and old stone walls near the geographic center of Essex County. Our shop at 779 Lafayette Road in Seabrook is about 26 minutes and 20.1 miles away. The Window Source NH is a family-owned replacement window and door company. Our own local crew measures, orders and installs every window we put into a Boxford home.
Old Farm Country And The Homes In It
Europeans settled Boxford in 1646 as part of Rowley Village, and the town was incorporated in 1685 with about forty families. Farming was the main work, and craftsmen lived here too. The stone walls that meander through town are what is left of those old field boundaries.
Some houses go back a long way. Witch Hollow Farm, also called the Tyler-Wood House, was built around 1727 at Main Street and Ipswich Road. West Boxford grew enough to become its own parish in 1735, and its first church went up in 1774.
Today the town still divides into Boxford Village, which most people call East Boxford, and West Boxford Village. It is heavily forested, with small farms in between. Many homes sit close to water: Stiles Pond, Baldpate Pond, Spofford Pond, Cedar Pond, and the brooks that drain to the Ipswich River.
That setting shapes the window decision. A house deep in the trees can feel dark, so the amount of glass matters. A house on a pond or an open field takes the wind head on, so insulation matters. An old farmhouse needs a sash that looks right from the road.
Windows That Suit Boxford Houses
These are four double hungs we often suggest here. Each price is installed, for a white double hung with basic installation. Grids and colors add.
- Harvey Classic from $617: our best seller, with a .24 U-value, fusion-welded frames and double-strength glass. It suits most Boxford homes.
- Harvey Slimline from $545: a slim welded frame gives you more glass and more daylight, with a .29 U-value. Handy when tall trees already shade the house.
- Harvey Tribute from $683: a contoured, beveled sash and hidden tilt latches for a traditional look, with a .25 U-value. Worth a look for an antique farmhouse.
- Harvey Homerun from $699: our best value, a custom-built Harvey with triple-pane glass and a .18 U-value. It is the most efficient window we sell.
Harvey Windows + Doors is a New England manufacturer based in Waltham, Massachusetts. Read more on our Harvey windows in Massachusetts page, or compare every option on the double hung windows page. We also install Gentek windows, and colonial grids can add divided lights to suit an older house.
How A Boxford Window Job Works
It starts with the form on this page or a call to (603) 764-7212, Monday to Friday 8:00 to 5:00. Skip, Andrea or Gary reads every request, and we usually call back within one business day.
Next comes a free in-home measure. We look at each opening and talk through what you want from the new windows. You then get a written quote, with no pressure to sign that day.
If you go ahead, we order the windows and our own crew installs them. Every window carries our transferable Lifetime Warranty, so it can pass to the next owner of the house. 0% financing for 18 months is available; the details are on our replacement window financing page. Boxford’s building department can tell you whether your project needs a permit.
