Replacement Windows In Haverhill
Haverhill’s first settlers knew this place as Pentucket, an Algonquian name meaning “place of the winding river.” That river is the Merrimack, and it carried Haverhill from farming to sawmills, woolen mills, tanneries and shipbuilding. From our shop in Seabrook, NH, the city is about 22 minutes and 15.7 miles away. We replace windows and doors here with our own local crew.
From Pentucket To The Queen Slipper City
Haverhill was founded in 1640 and became a city in 1870. Shoes made its name. By the end of 1913, one tenth of the shoes made in the United States came from Haverhill. That earned it the title Queen Slipper City.
Plenty of older Haverhill still stands. The home of William White, the city’s father, was expanded in the 17th and 18th centuries and remains today. The city also keeps a number of houses that served as stops on the Underground Railroad. Poet John Greenleaf Whittier came from Haverhill too.
If you own one of the city’s older houses, new windows are a balance. You want a warmer, quieter home, but not one that loses its character. If your house is newer, the decision is mostly about efficiency, budget and the look you like. We help with both kinds of job.
Four Double Hungs That Suit Haverhill Houses
Each price here is an installed price for a white double hung with basic installation. Grids and colors cost extra.
- Harvey Classic, from $617 installed: our best seller. Fusion-welded frames, double-strength glass and a .24 U-value make it a strong all-around choice.
- Harvey Tribute, from $683 installed: contoured, beveled sash and hidden tilt latches give an older home a traditional look. It has a .25 U-value.
- Harvey Slimline, from $545 installed: a slim welded frame that shows more glass, with a .29 U-value. A good fit if you want a wider view of the river or the yard.
- Gentek Series 9000, from $683 installed: triple-pane glass, a .22 U-value and an Energy Star Most Efficient rating.
Harvey Windows + Doors is a New England manufacturer based in Waltham, Massachusetts. Learn more about Harvey windows in Massachusetts, or browse all of our double hung windows. We also install entry doors and sliding patio doors.
You do not have to put one model in every opening. A Slimline can go where the view matters, with a Classic everywhere else. If the house runs cold, the triple-pane Series 9000 may be worth the step up. Your written quote can show each option side by side, so you can compare before you decide.
Some older homes also have odd-sized or shaped openings over doors or in gables. We offer architectural and shaped windows for those, and colonial grids to match the rest of the house.
