Replacement Windows In Merrimac
Merrimac lies along the north bank of the Merrimack River, right on the New Hampshire line. From our shop in Seabrook, it is a short drive: about 14 minutes and 10.0 miles. The Window Source NH is a family-owned replacement window and door company. Our own local crew measures, orders and installs every window.
Merrimac Square, Merrimacport And Newer Neighborhoods
Settled in 1638 as part of Salisbury and later Amesbury, Merrimac became its own town in 1876. In the 19th century it was known worldwide for building horse-drawn carriages. The town center around Merrimac Square grew in that era, and it still shows the brick buildings and Victorian architecture of the late 1800s. The older village of Merrimacport grew separately, and today Interstate 495 runs between the two. Merrimacport was where the English first settled, in a community of farming, fishing and a little shipbuilding.
Merrimac grew again through the 1990s and early 2000s. That means the town holds both late 1800s buildings and much newer houses. The land is mostly small forested hills, with ponds, streams and Lake Attitash, which Merrimac shares with Amesbury. Each kind of house asks something different of its windows. An older home may need a traditional profile, while a newer one may simply need more efficient glass. Merrimac also touches three New Hampshire towns: Newton, South Hampton and Plaistow. Our own shop sits on that same state line, in Seabrook.

Harvey Windows + Doors is a New England manufacturer based in Waltham, Massachusetts. There is more on Harvey windows in Massachusetts if you want to compare models. We also install bay and bow windows, casement and awning windows and basement hopper windows.
Not sure where to start? For most Merrimac homes, the Classic is a sound place to begin. For a house from the Victorian era around the square, look closely at the Tribute. If budget comes first, the Slimline starts lowest, and the Series 3000 adds a foam-insulated frame. Replacing a door as well? We install Harvey fiberglass entry doors and sliding patio doors from Harvey and Gentek.
