Replacement Windows In Rowley
Rowley is about 25 minutes and 16.9 miles from our shop at 779 Lafayette Road in Seabrook. The Window Source NH replaces windows and doors in town, with every window measured, ordered and installed by our own local crew. Rowley has been building things since 1639, so we take its houses seriously.
A Town Built By Hand Since 1639
Reverend Ezekiel Rogers and about twenty families settled Rowley, and the town was incorporated on September 4, 1639. Its land once took in parts of today’s Byfield, Groveland, Georgetown and Haverhill. A fulling mill came in 1643 and a grist mill in 1645.
The settlers named the town after Rowley in the East Riding of Yorkshire, where Rogers had been pastor. Their ship, the John of London, also brought the first printing press in the colonies. Rowley later became known for its hemp and flax cloth, as well as cotton.
In 1642 the town built a stone arch bridge and dam on the Mill River. It was the first stone arch bridge in North America, made of hand-chiseled granite with no mortar. A sawmill opened in 1669 and is still in business today. Later came a wagon factory, a shoe industry and boat building.
Windows For Rowley’s Older And Newer Homes
A town with nearly four centuries behind it can have houses from almost any era. Some owners want windows that keep a traditional face. Others want the tightest, most efficient glass they can buy. Plenty want both.
For an older house, start with the Harvey Tribute. Its contoured, beveled sash and hidden tilt latches look like a traditional window, not a modern insert. Pair it with colonial grids for a divided-light look.
For comfort first, look at triple pane. The Harvey Homerun has a .18 U-value, the most efficient window we sell. For most other homes, the Harvey Classic is our best seller for good reason.
If a wall would suit something other than a double hung, ask about casement and awning windows or a bay or bow window.
