Replacement Windows In Newbury
Newbury is three villages in one town: Old Town around Newbury Center, Plum Island on the ocean, and the old mill village of Byfield. From our shop in Seabrook it is about 21 minutes and 12.7 miles to Newbury. We are The Window Source NH, a family-owned replacement window and door company. Our own local crew installs every window we sell.
Antique Houses, Salt Marsh And Shore
About 100 settlers from Wiltshire, England, came ashore at the Parker River in the spring of 1635. Some of the houses their families built still stand. The Coffin House dates to 1678, the Swett-Ilsley House to about 1670, and the Dole-Little House to about 1715. Newbury today is mostly residential, with many examples of fine antique architecture.
Byfield grew up around the falls on the Parker River and once had six water-powered mills. It is also home to The Governor’s Academy, founded in 1763 as the nation’s first boarding preparatory school. Plum Island became a Victorian seaside resort after the railroad arrived in 1850. Between them lies salt marsh, drained by the Little River, the Parker River and the Plum Island River. Much of it is protected, including the Parker River National Wildlife Refuge and the Old Town Hill Reservation Area.
Each part of town asks something different of a window. An antique house in Old Town wants a sash that respects its age. A Plum Island home takes salt air and wind off the Atlantic and Plum Island Sound. Plenty of houses simply need tight, easy windows that last.
Matching Windows To Newbury’s Villages
All prices are installed, for a white double hung with basic installation. Grids and colors add.
- Harvey Tribute from $683: a contoured, beveled sash and hidden tilt latches give a traditional look, with a .25 U-value. Pair it with colonial grids for an antique house.
- Harvey Homerun from $699: our best value, a custom-built Harvey with triple-pane glass and a .18 U-value. On Plum Island, that efficiency earns its keep.
- Harvey Classic from $617: our best seller, with a .24 U-value, fusion-welded frames and double-strength glass. A sound choice for most Newbury homes.
- Harvey Slimline from $545: a slim welded frame and more glass, with a .29 U-value. Worth it where the marsh view is the point.
