Replacement Windows In North Andover
North Andover was the original center of old Andover, and it became its own town in 1855. It is about 30 minutes and 23.6 miles from our shop in Seabrook, NH. The Window Source NH is family owned, and our own local crew handles every window from measure to install.
First Period Houses And A Changing Town
Several First Period houses, built before 1720, still stand in town. The original part of the Bridges House dates to about 1690, and the Parson Barnard House is now a museum. On the North Andover Green, the North Parish Church is a Gothic building from 1836. Barker’s Farm, started in 1643, is the oldest continually operated business in Massachusetts.
The town did not grow in one piece. Land along the Shawsheen and Merrimack rivers went to mills and industry, while the southwest stayed agricultural. Western Electric, AT&T’s manufacturing division, built telephone machinery here for many years. Today North Andover is a bedroom community of Greater Boston. So one homeowner might live in a centuries-old house, and a neighbor in one built much more recently. Lake Cochichewick fills the northeast part of town, bordered by the Osgood Hill and Weir Hill reservations. Parts of Harold Parker State Forest and Boxford State Forest reach into town too, along with the Charles W. Ward Reservation.
An early house usually needs windows that respect its lines. A newer house often just needs tighter, more efficient glass. Either way, we measure every opening in person. If your home is historic, your town’s building department can tell you whether a permit or review applies.
Windows For North Andover Homes
Prices are installed, for a white double hung with basic installation; grids and colors add.
- Harvey Tribute, from $683: contoured, beveled sash and hidden tilt latches, made for a traditional look. U-value .25.
- Harvey Classic, from $617: our best seller. Fusion-welded frames and double-strength glass, with a .24 U-value.
- Gentek Series 3000, from $587: a foam-insulated frame and double-strength glass, rated at a .28 U-value.
- Harvey Homerun, from $699: our best value. Triple-pane glass and a .18 U-value make it the most efficient window we sell.
Pair any of them with colonial grids if the house calls for divided lites. If heating bills are your main worry, the Homerun’s triple pane gives you the lowest U-value we offer. For a back room or deck, we also install French doors, including the Harvey Majesty, with Andersen on request. Harvey Windows + Doors is a New England manufacturer based in Waltham, Massachusetts.
